Our view of the service

Date of assessment: 21 July to 28 July 2025.

1 Lansdowne Road is a care home supporting autistic people or people with a learning disability. There were 10 people living at the service at the time of our assessment.

We assessed the service against 'Right support, right care, right culture' guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted.
We found a breach of the legal regulations concerning governance.
Medicines were not always managed safely. The provider had not acted quickly to protect people when there were allegations about staff conduct. People's health and safety were not always well assessed in care plans and risk assessments. The environment and infection prevention control practices (IPC) were not always safe. Governance systems had not identified areas for improvement.
However, staff understood the risks people could experience. Staff had received appropriate training and were recruited safely. Staff promoted people's independence and supported them to maintain relationships with their families and people important to them. A staff member told us, “I do enjoy it here, it feels very homely. It is a very relaxed place to be. I love the job. It’s about making a difference in people’s lives.”

People's experience of this service

People received support to be part of their community and pursue their hobbies and interests. People’s communication needs were met and they had received support from external health professionals. People’s religious and cultural needs had been considered. There were systems to seek regular feedback from people. People gave us positive feedback about staff and leaders. A person told us, “I do like it here, everybody is my favourite.”
