Date of Assessment: 13 April 2026 to 22 April 2026. The Glen Private Nursing Home is a nursing home providing nursing and personal care to people, some of whom were living with dementia. The service is registered to support up to 19 people and was supporting 17 people at the time of the assessment. We assessed this service due to the length of time since the previous inspection.
The service supported people safely and had an embedded culture of transparency, person-centred care and promoting independence. Staff were committed to improving people’s lives and understanding what was important to them. Regular governance and auditing took place at the service by the registered manager and staff, this ensured any issues at the service could be identified and addressed quickly.
Medicines were managed safely by skilled and competent staff. The environment was clean, tidy and well maintained.
Staff were exceptionally kind and caring and took pride in their work. The service had many long-standing staff members and morale at the service was high. Staff told us they enjoyed their roles and felt very well supported.
People and their relatives were fully involved in planning their care and the service adapted to the changing needs of the people they supported.
The service had built strong and trusting relationships with local health and social care services and worked proactively to continually improve the service, learn from incidents and contribute to research and pilots. There was a culture of continual improvement, staff empowerment and partnership working.
