Our view of the service
Meyrick Cottage is a care home providing personal care for up to 6 people with a learning disability and/or autistic people. There were 6 people living at the service during this inspection. The inspection was carried out between 29 July and 8 August 2025. This inspection was prompted by concerns we received about safety of the care provision and leadership of the service. However, we found this service to be safe and well-led.
We inspected the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted.
Staff respected people’s rights, and their individuality supported.People had care plans and risk assessments in place and care was person centred. Staff supported people to have maximum choice and control of their lives. Staff knew people well. Safeguarding procedures were in place to help protect people from abuse. Staff felt supported and had the necessary skills to do their job. People’s views and preferences were communicated and acted upon. Medicines were managed safely. People were encouraged to pursue their interests, join in various activities and be a part of their community.
