Updated 14 April 2026
Date of assessment 24 April 2026. Mulholland Care Ltd is a domiciliary care provider. At the time of assessment, the service was delivering personal care to 90 people living in their own homes. Following this assessment, we have rated the service good.
We gave the service 48 hours' notice of the inspection. This was because we intended to visit people’s homes and needed to gain consent before visiting.
The provider and staff had regard for ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities which most people take for granted. We found people received care in accordance with this guidance and staff had received appropriate training relating to people with a learning disability and autistic people.
Staff supported people to have the maximum possible choice, control and independence over their own lives. People made their own decisions and staff respected these choices. Staff focused on people's strengths and promoted what they could do, so people had a fulfilling and meaningful everyday life.
Person-centred care was promoted, staff knew people well and understood how to meet their needs. People’s views and decisions about care were incorporated within their care packages. Staff were kind, respectful and caring. Staff engaged with people in a friendly and caring manner and their conversations with people were good natured.
The service’s culture was empowering. Staff enjoyed their roles and the strong supportive relationships they had built with people they supported. The provider had a range of checks and audits to monitor the quality and safety of the service and to help drive improvements.
The service received strong praise from people using it, their relatives and staff. Day to day care was managed effectively, and both the provider and staff demonstrated open, inclusive values which helped build trust with those receiving support.
