Our view of the service

Date of assessment- 30 April 2026-18 May 2026

Cambridge Court is a care home in Waterloo in Liverpool. People in care homes receive accommodation alongside nursing or personal care as part of a single package under one contractual agreement. The service can support up to 53 people; at the time of inspection, 52 people were living in the home.

Care plans and risk assessments were in place and provided staff with clear guidance on how to support people safely. We identified some care plans required updating and some people required additional risk assessments. This was discussed with the registered manager, who responded immediately and took the necessary action.

Some people, relatives and staff raised concerns regarding staffing levels within the home. Although people’s needs were being met, we were told this was not always in a timely manner. The registered manager assured us there were enough staff on shift to support people safely.

The provider worked in partnership with a multidisciplinary team to ensure people’s needs were met. Positive feedback was received from visiting professionals, who said they would highly recommend the service.

People were supported by staff who knew them well, and we observed positive, respectful interactions between staff and people living in the home. Meetings with people, relatives and staff were used to share information and support improvements.

Positive feedback was received from people and their relatives; everyone we spoke with felt confident in raising concerns if required.

The provider had strong links with the local community, and people were supported to take part in activities such as visiting entertainers, animal therapy sessions and religious services.

The provider provided person-centred care, ensuring people were at the heart of the care they received.

Quality assurance systems were in place and provided effective oversight of the service. These systems supported monitoring, continuous improvement, and helped ensure the service operated safely.
