All Inspections

During an assessment under our new approach

The inspection took place on 21 and 26 January 2026. The inspection was undertaken following the transfer of the service to a new provider, and it had not yet been inspected.

The service had well‑embedded systems that kept people safe, with effective safeguarding processes, proactive risk management and a clean, well‑maintained environment. Staff were well trained and supported in their roles, and medicines were managed safely. There was a positive safety culture.

Care was person‑centred, guided by thorough assessments and regular reviews. Staff worked closely with people, relatives and external professionals to ensure support reflected people’s needs and followed best practice. Health needs were monitored closely, and people’s rights were upheld through consistent application of the Mental Capacity Act and clear consent processes.

People experienced compassionate, respectful care from staff who knew them well and promoted dignity, independence and choice. Interactions were warm and attentive, and staff responded promptly to people’s needs. A strong sense of teamwork and staff wellbeing contributed to high‑quality, person‑centred support. Care was responsive, with personalised activities available for everyone across the home. People felt listened to and involved in decisions, and the service ensured sensitive planning for future and end‑of‑life needs.

The service was well led by an inclusive, visible and supportive leadership team who promoted a positive culture based on transparency, equality and person‑centred values. Good governance systems ensured effective oversight of quality and safety, with regular audits and clear accountability driving continuous improvement. Staff felt confident to speak up, diversity was valued, and partnerships with professionals and the community strengthened the quality and consistency of care.

People’s experience of using this service: We received very positive views from people about the support provided to them. People said they felt safe and staff were respectful.

People received their medicines safely and on time and their health was well managed. Staff had positive links with health care professionals which promoted people’s wellbeing.

Care and support was tailored to each person's needs and preferences. People and their relatives were fully involved in developing and updating their planned care.

Staff had received appropriate training and support to enable them to carry out their role. Recruitment checks were carried out to ensure staff were suitable to work in the service.

People were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives and staff supported them in the least restrictive way possible. The policies and systems in the service supported this practice.

The registered manager led by example to ensure people received a good service. People and staff told us the registered manager and senior team were approachable and listened to them when they had any concerns. All feedback was used to make continuous improvements to the service.

Rating at last inspection: This was the first inspection since Advinia had taken over as the provider.

Why we inspected: This was a planned inspection based on the service being registered with a new provider.

Follow up: We will continue to monitor intelligence we receive about the service until we return to visit as per our re-inspection programme. If any concerning information is received we may inspect sooner.
