Our view of the service

Reliant Care Ltd provides support to people living in supported living settings. The service provides support to people to remain independent and live in their own flat within their community. A separate housing association is responsible for the running and maintenance of the building. The provision of personal care and the housing association are managed separately.

The provider supported people with mental health needs, people living with disabilities and autistic spectrum conditions.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) only inspect the service received by people provided with 'personal care'; help with tasks related to personal hygiene and eating. Where they do, we also take into account any wider social care provided. At the time of this assessment, the service was supporting 2 people with personal care needs.

Assessment activity started on 24 June 2025 and ended on 7 July 2025.

We expect health and social care providers to guarantee people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices and independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ is the guidance CQC follows to make assessments and judgements about services supporting people with a learning disability and autistic people and providers must have regard to it.

People received safe care. Risks were identified and plans implemented to help reduce risk. Safe recruitment practices were in place and staff received appropriate training for their role. People received support with their medicines. Staff followed infection prevention procedures. People had their individual needs assessed and care plans were reviewed regularly. The principles of the Mental Capacity Act (MCA) 2005 were understood, and staff helped ensure people were supported to make choices and decisions. Staff were kind and caring and respected people’s individual preferences. Governance systems were in place. These monitored the quality of the service to help drive improvements. The provider worked in partnership with other agencies to help provide people with the care and support that met their needs.

People's experience of this service

At the time of the assessment, 2 people received personal care and support from the provider. We were unable to speak with people due to their support needs and therefore obtained feedback from 1 person’s relative and another person’s advocate. Feedback obtained indicated that people were safe. A relative told us, “I am confident that [person] is safe. I have confidence that [staff] monitor [person] well and care for them. Staff are kind and caring. This is one of the key features. All of the carers I have met are committed, professional and seem to genuinely care for [person’s] welfare.”

People had access to support to manage risks to their safety and were involved with health professionals as needed.

A relative said, “From my point of view, [person] is safe and well looked after and the staff are dedicated and committed.”
