All Inspections

During an assessment under our new approach

We carried out this announced on-site inspection on 8 August 2025.

We found the practice had met all regulations.

We found minor shortfalls in appropriately assessing and mitigating risks in relation to emergency equipment, infection control, the control of substances hazardous to health and disability access all of which have since been addressed.

Staff had the skills, knowledge and experience to carry out their roles.

Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation and there was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement.

Staff provided care and treatment in line with current guidance. They treated patients with dignity and respect and ensured access to care, support, and treatment when required.

The practice is in Gloucester and provides NHS and private orthodontic treatment for adults and children.

There was step-free access to the practice and car parking spaces available, including dedicated parking for disabled people, near the practice.

The practice had 4 treatment rooms.

At the time of our inspection, there was a total of 15 staff, of which there was a dentist, orthodontist, 6 dental nurses, a trainee dental nurse, 4 dental therapists, 2 receptionists and the practice manager.

We gathered feedback from staff and spoke to a range of staff during our inspection, including the principal dentist, 2 dental nurses and the practice manager.

During a routine inspection

We spoke with three people who used the practice. They made positive comments about the practice and the treatment they had received. People also told us that the staff were polite and respectful to them. One person told us that the practice was "very welcoming". We found that people were able to give their views about the service they had received. People told us how they had their orthodontic treatment explained to them and records that we looked at showed this.

Staff had received training to protect children and vulnerable adults from the risk of abuse. Everyone we spoke to said that the practice environment was clean when they visited. We found that there were effective procedures in use for the decontamination of dental instruments. We also found that quality monitoring systems were in place that included seeking the views of people using the service.
