During an assessment under our new approach

We undertook a follow-up on-site inspection on 12 June 2025. This was carried out to review the actions taken by the registered provider to improve the quality of care and to assess whether the practice was meeting legal requirements.

We had previously undertaken an announced on-site inspection of Poldent Dental Care on 1 May 2025. We had found the registered provider was not providing safe or well-led care and was in breach of Regulations 13 (safeguarding service users from abuse and improper treatment), 15 (premises and equipment), and 17 (good governance) of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014.

During our follow-up inspection, we found the practice had met regulations.

The practice had systems to manage risks. Fire safety issues had been resolved, and schedules were in place for ongoing servicing and monitoring.

Safeguarding processes had been improved, and staff knew their responsibilities for safeguarding.

The practice now had systems to review and investigate incidents and accidents.

Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation, and checklists were in place to ensure this was followed.

Infection control procedures followed published guidance.

The practice is in Leeds city centre and provides private dental care and treatment for adults and children.

There was step-free access to the practice and car parking spaces available, including dedicated parking for disabled people, near the practice.

The practice had 2 treatment rooms.During the inspection we spoke with 1 dentist, 2 dental nurses, 1 receptionist and the practice manager.
