Our view of the service

On the 24 June to 25 June 2026, we carried out a comprehensive assessment of Heart First Ambulance, an independent ambulance service. This was an aged, rated assessment.

Hearts First Ambulance Service registered with the CQC in 2017 to deliver the regulated activities: Transport services, triage and medical advice provided remotely and Treatment of disease, disorder or injury. The service had a Registered Manager, who was also the service’s Nominated Individual.

We assessed 1 assessment service group, Patient Transport Services (PTS). The service supported private contracts, repatriation and medical cover for events. The Care Quality Commission (CQC) does not currently regulate medical cover at events.

We visited the ambulance base as part of the assessment.

The location had previously been rated requires improvement. The service had made significant improvements and was rated outstanding
