Date of assessment: 13 August to 8 September 2025. The service is a nursing home providing support to older people, some of whom were living with dementia.
We assessed the service due to concerns received about staff not seeking appropriate medical care for people, low staffing levels and a poor culture. We completed a full inspection of the service, looking at 33 quality statements due to the time since last inspection.
We found no evidence of these concerns during our inspection. Staff were seeking medical care for people as required, the service maintained appropriate levels of staffing for the needs of the people at the service and staff spoke positively of working at the service.
There was also a strong learning culture at the service, where staff focused on continuous improvement. Staff were knowledgeable about people’s needs and received a variety of training relevant to their role. The environment was clean and free from hazards.
People were involved in decisions about their care. Staff provided information people could understand and supported their communication needs. People knew how to give feedback and felt confident to do so.
Staff worked well together and with healthcare partners creatively and innovatively to improve outcomes for people. People received effective, person-centred care from a caring and compassionate staff team.
Staff and leaders demonstrated their commitment and openness to innovation and partnership working to enable people to achieve good outcomes. Leaders were visible, knowledgeable and supportive, helping staff develop in their roles. Leaders had established effective governance systems and processes to check the quality of care and continually make improvements.
