Caring – this means we looked for evidence that the service involved people and treated them with compassion, kindness, dignity and respect.
At our last assessment we rated this key question good. At this assessment the rating has remained good. This meant people were supported and treated with dignity and respect; and involved as partners in their care.

Independence, choice and control
The provider promoted people’s independence; people told us staff would always seek consent before providing support. People were encouraged to be independent and supported with tasks where they needed help to maintain and improve independence. People were offered choice. One person told us, “The staff are brilliant, they listen to you”. People provided positive feedback about activities, and we observed the activity person completing varied group activities. There was a completed activity board showing activities that had been developed at the service. The activity person told us how they supported people to be involved in individual activities they were interested in.
