Independence, choice and control
The provider promoted people’s independence, so people knew their rights and had choice and control over their own care, treatment, and wellbeing. People told us they were supported to be independent. One person told us, “I do what I want, I help round my house and go where I want to go.” Another person said, “I decide what I want to wear, eat and where I want to go. It is up to me.” A staff member told us, “[Name] gets the house shopping and asks others what they would like. [Name] likes to go clothes shopping.” We observed people in their homes been supported with daily activities. People attended day centres, accessed the community, and visited families. We observed people discussing with staff what they would like to do that day. When visiting people in their homes an easy read document was in place making people aware of CQC visiting. People opened their door when we arrived and showed us round their home.
