At the inspection on 15 May 2025, we found the practice had made the following improvements to comply with the regulation:

We looked at 7 patient care records. The information recorded in these patient care records was mostly in line with recognised guidance. However, we noted some records did not always include justification of prescribing antibiotics and taking X-rays. We discussed this with the principal dentist and were assured this would be addressed and rectified.

Staff obtained patients’ consent for treatment in line with legislation and guidance and understood their responsibilities under the Mental Capacity Act 2005. We noted the method for obtaining consent was not always recorded in patient records for periodontal treatment. Staff described how they involved patients’ relatives or carers when appropriate and made sure they had enough time to explain treatment options clearly.
