Independence, choice and control
Staff consistently treated people with kindness, compassion and respect, promoting their privacy, dignity and independence. People had access to personalised bedrooms, decorated according to their preferences, with en-suite facilities supporting privacy and choice.
Each person was supported by a dedicated keyworker, enabling trusting and meaningful relationships to develop over time. Relatives spoke positively about the caring approach of staff. One relative said staff were “in tune with her every need” and regularly found new activities for their family member to enjoy. Another described staff as “dedicated, patient and always going the extra mile.”
These caring and consistent relationships had a positive impact on people’s wellbeing and sense of belonging. One relative told us their family member greeted staff with a “big hug” on returning to the home, which they felt demonstrated the person felt safe, valued and at home within the service.
