Our view of the service
This assessment was carried out on 20 August 2025 to follow up on breaches identified at the last inspection.
During our last inspection on 30 July 2024, we found breaches in the following areas:
The service must ensure it has individualised early or unexpected exit from treatment forms located within client’s files (Regulation 12)
The service must ensure that governance systems and process including audits are in place. (Reg 17)
The service must ensure it has a personalised ligature risk assessment and ligature risk management plan in place. (Reg 17)
The service must ensure staff have access to regular supervision, appraisal and team meetings in line with the providers policy. (Reg 18)
The provider must ensure that duty of candour is considered, and the duty of candour policy is followed when something has gone wrong. (Regulation 20)
We rated the service as Requires Improvement. We found 4 breaches of the regulations in relation to safe care and treatment, person centred care and good governance.
However, there were enough staff to ensure people’s safety and the service had addressed some breaches from the last assessment.
We have asked the provider for an action plan in response to the concerns found at this assessment.
People's experience of this service
There were 5 people using the service at the time of our visit. We spoke with everyone.
Feedback from people using the service was entirely negative. People told us there was very little to do, their timetables had too many gaps and they were bored at times. People told us they didn’t think all the staff had the right experience to support them effectively. People told us they didn’t have any opportunities to raise these issues with the staff. People felt there were limited therapy sessions and told us it felt it was an effort for staff to support them with activities like going for a walk or visiting the beach. People wanted to leave as they felt the information they had been given prior to admission dis not align with the care they were receiving.
We made the provider aware of the themes of people’s feedback to provide them with an immediate opportunity to address it and do something to improve people’s experience.
