Medicines optimisation

Score: 3

The provider was not responsible for administering medicines, this was undertaken by family members. However, the registered manager told us they still provided staff with training to give them knowledge about the medicines people took so they would know the impacts upon a person and possible side effects of taking them. This information was also recorded in people’s care plans so it could be shared with other agencies such as the ambulance service and hospitals should it be needed.
