Our view of the service

Date of assessment 29 July to 19 September 2025. Fleming Court provides accommodation for up to 69 people who require nursing or personal care. When we inspected 63 people were living at the home. This inspection was triggered due to the time since we last inspected the service.

There were sufficient staff to meet people’s needs in a timely way. New staff were recruited safely. Staff provided outstanding care. They demonstrated empathy and embodied the values of person-centred care. Staff were exceptional in supporting people to maintain their independence and be in control to make choices about how their care was provided.

Health and safety checks and risk assessments were completed to maintain a safe environment. The environment was clean and well-maintained. Incidents and accidents were investigated and analysed to identify areas for improvement and learn lessons.

There had been no formal complaints about the service. Professionals praised the care provided at Fleming Court. The home regularly received compliments about the care provided.

Staff had access to detailed care plans which provided personalised information about how people wanted their care.

Staff were well supported and knew how to raise concerns, if needed. The provider had effective quality assurance systems to ensure issues were identified and resolved quickly.

People's experience of this service

People gave exceptionally positive feedback about the care provided at Fleming Court. They described how staff were especially caring, responsive and compassionate towards people. A person described Fleming Court as being like a “5 star hotel” with “amazing staff.” Relatives also gave excellent feedback about the home. A relative said, “As soon as you enter Fleming Court it is so welcoming you can almost feel the kindness.” People received extremely personalised care and could participate in a wide range of engaging and varied activities both inside the home and the local community. People could also join specific interest groups focusing on areas such as speaking French, history, gardening and poetry. There were regular opportunities available for people and relatives to give feedback. People and relatives described the registered manager as approachable and supportive. We used the Short Observational Framework for Inspection (SOFI). SOFI is a way of observing care to help us understand the experience of people who could not talk with us.
