During a routine inspection

We visited the agency's office to look at records and talked to staff about how they provided safe and appropriate care to people.

People we spoke to were happy with the service they received from Bluebird Care South Tyneside. They said they had regular carers who they were happy with.

The people we spoke with all said they had been involved in planning their care and told us that they could contact the main office if they had any queries.

People were cared for by staff who were supported to deliver care and treatment safely and to an appropriate standard.

We found the provider had systems in place to assess and monitor the quality of the service. People told us they felt comfortable discussing any concerns they had with the manager or with staff, and most people told us their concerns were always acted upon.

We saw the agency checked every member of staff to make sure they were suitable to work with people.

During a routine inspection

Bluebird Care South Tyneside is a newly established Domiciliary Care Agency and at the time of our inspection it was providing a service to 52 people.

We visited the agency’s office to look at records and talk to staff about how they provided safe and appropriate care to people. We spoke with five people who used the service to find out their experience of using the agency.

People we spoke to were happy with the service they received from Bluebird Care South Tyneside. They said they had regular carers who they were happy with.

One person said "They are friendly and arrive on time." Another person said "They are very busy but always have time for a chat."

The people we spoke with all said they had been involved in planning their care and told us that they could contact the main office if they had any queries.

Relatives we spoke to said "All the staff I have spoken to are very professional" Another person said "I ring the office and speak to the manager. She is always helpful and sorts it out for me.” Another person said "The office is near where I live. I can pop in and speak to the manager if I need to."
