There were no systems to gather formal feedback, for example, surveys. The registered manager told us they made regular contact with people over the phone to gather feedback and used this to inform any changes to peoples care, however this was not recorded. Language used in care plans was not always person centred.

Relatives told us care staff were able to speak the same language as their loved ones, which was the service user’s preference. A relative said, " This is very helpful, [name of person] felt safe due to this [Communicating in their own language]. Staff will take [name of person] to the mosque in the summer.

Staff confirmed they had completed training in equality and diversity. Staff were aware of the protected characteristics under the equality act. Acknowledging diversity and valuing differences.
