Staff carried out assessments that considered each patient’s physical, emotional, and personal care needs. Patients were supported to understand their care and treatment so they could make informed decisions and give valid consent.

We saw that patients and their communities achieved good outcomes because staff assessed their needs thoroughly. Care, treatment, and support reflected individual requirements, including any protected equality characteristics, ensuring patients remained at the centre of decision-making.
