Equity in experiences and outcomes
Staff and leaders actively listened to information about people who are most likely to experience inequality in experience or outcomes and tailored their care, support and treatment in response to this. Staff and leaders of the service maintained a consistent, person-centered approach. From transitions to care planning and delivery, there was opportunity for people who lived at the service to give insight and collaborate in their care planning.
The provider ensured that celebrations were in place across the home for a range of cultural and religious holidays, to promote an inclusive environment. People were supported to meet their religious needs via church services, provision of religious books, and cultural food options.
The provider ensured there was equity in how people received the care necessary to achieve positive outcomes. For example, one person required specific care equipment due to their needs and the provider had arranged for that equipment to be available. The service had also provided the person with support which helped them to become more aware of their own needs and able to care for themselves. The person had achieved positive outcomes from the provider’s support.
