Independence, choice and control
The provider promoted people’s independence, so people knew their rights and had choice and control over their own care, treatment and wellbeing.
People were given choices wherever possible, for individuals with limited capacity, choices such as drinks, activities, what they would like to wear, were offered and prompted to enable autonomy wherever possible.
People were offered options of both in house and community-based activities. The activities co-ordinator met with each person individually, to gather information about their social needs and preferences. A brunch club was offered in house to encourage people who may be more socially withdrawn to engage with peers.
A person living at the service told us they found 'staff friendly and approachable and were able to approach staff about anything bothering them.’
