This service scored 75 (out of 100) for this area. Find out what we look at when we assess this area and How we calculate these scores.
Person-centred Care
People received care that met their needs. Most people were not aware of their care plan but all told us staff provided care that met their needs. Relatives were happy with the care provided to their family member and felt staff treated people as individuals. A relative told us, “I’ve seen [Name] making choices and asking staff to do things.”
Staff and manager understand people’s preferences and sought their opinions about their care. People’s care plans reflected their likes and dislikes, and how they preferred their care to be given.
We observed people being asked about their choices for the day and taking part in activities they enjoyed. One person became distressed about the dressing on their leg, the care staff got the nurse who skilfully helped her to feel calmer and redressed her leg.

People’s health and wellbeing was regularly assessed and they were referred to health professionals where required.
Staff involved people in the assessment and planning of their care. Where people were not able to express their needs, their mental capacity was assessed and all safeguards were in place to ensure people received care that met their needs.
The provider had employed staff that spoke people's first language, enabling clearer communication about their physical, mental and cultural needs. People had access to the GP and other health professionals through referrals and staff followed the advice and prescribed care.
