Home Instead Senior Care Rochdale is a care at home service providing personal and social care to people in their own homes. Not everyone who used the service received personal care. CQC only inspects where people receive personal care. This is help with tasks related to personal hygiene and eating. Where staff do support people with personal care, we also consider any wider social care provided.
At the time of the inspection the service was supporting33 people with the regulated activity of personal care. This inspection was prompted by the age of the previous rating.
People consistently received safe, high-quality, compassionate, and person-centred care which had a significant and lasting positive impact on their lives. People told us they felt safe, respected and protected, and staff demonstrated a strong and embedded understanding of safeguarding responsibilities.
Relationships between people and staff were exceptionally strong. People and their relatives consistently described staff as professional, kind, caring and respectful,frequently highlighting that staff went “above and beyond”.People were fully involved in decisions about their care, and this personalised, inclusive approach ensured they felt genuinely heard, valued and in control of their support.
Care was delivered by a consistent, well-led team who knew people extremely well. Visits were reliable,timely and tailored to what mattered most to each individual. Staff took proactive steps to promote people’s health and wellbeing, encouraging positive routines, meaningful activity and healthier lifestyles. Medicines were managed safely and effectively, and people benefitted from timely access to clinical support through strong and responsive partnership working.
Outcomes for people were consistently positive. Monitoring and feedback demonstrated clear improvements in wellbeing, confidence and independence, with many people achieving their personal goals. Staff were skilled and attentive, recognising subtle changes in people’s needs and responding promptly to keep them safe and well. A culture of continuous learning and improvement was evident throughout the service.
Leadership was strong, visible and compassionate. The registered manager fostered an open, inclusive and transparent culture where people, relatives and staff felt valued and respected. Robust governance systems, clear communication and highly effective partnership working ensured care was seamless and well-coordinated. People and staff felt confident to express views, raise concerns and share ideas, knowing they would be listened to and acted upon.
