Caring – this means we looked for evidence that the provider involved people and treated them with compassion, kindness, dignity, and respect.
At our last assessment we rated this key question as good. At this inspection, the rating has remained good. This meant people were supported and treated with dignity and respect; and
involved as partners in their care.

Independence, choice and control
The provider promoted people’s independence, so people knew their rights and had choice and control over their own care, treatment, and wellbeing. Staff supported people to exercise their right to independence, choice, and control at differing levels dependant on their healthcare, dependency needs and mental capacity. People were supported to understand their rights by using different communication techniques, and languages if required and their understanding was regularly reviewed. The systems enabled people to maintain important relationships, access to activities and the local community to promote and support their independence, health, and wellbeing. People regularly accessed local shops and other amenities with staff support. A person using the service said, “I’m happy, I like it here. We [staff] go to the park and shops.”
