Governance, management and sustainability
At the inspection on 20 May 2025, we found the practice had made the following improvements to comply with the regulation:
Improvements had been made to the oversight of recruitment and completion of staff training.
Recruitment files were available on the premises; the provider had obtained further employment information for the staff most recently employed and assured us that they would work in accordance with their recruitment policy going forward.
The head nurse had introduced a monitoring system to ensure that staff training was up to date. Staff received monthly reminders when training was nearing its expiry date and update training was required.
Improvements had been made to the processes for identifying and managing fire and legionella risks. A fire risk assessment had been completed and action had been taken to address some issues identified. Work was ongoing to address other issues identified in this risk assessment. A legionella risk assessment had also been completed and apart from an issue which the provider was querying with the external risk assessor, all other actions had been completed.
Staff feedback was obtained through informal discussions and a formalised staff appraisal system had recently been implemented. The next appraisal meetings were scheduled for July 2025.
