At the inspection on 20 May 2025, we found the practice had made the following improvements to comply with the regulation:

All staff had completed training in emergency resuscitation and basic life support within the last 12 months. Some staff had completed this training online but we were told that face to face training was scheduled for all staff in June 2025.
Cleaning schedules had been completed to demonstrate cleaning undertaken on a daily and weekly basis.
Out of date personal protective equipment had been disposed of.

Records were available to demonstrate the servicing and validation of the ultrasonic cleaner.

Electromechanical servicing had been undertaken on X-ray machinery and records of the 3-year performance check was available for X-ray machinery at the practice.
Rectangular collimators were available on X-ray units.
A fire risk assessment had been completed and we saw evidence that action had been taken to address some of the issues identified. We were assured that action would be taken to address outstanding issues.
Records were available to demonstrate that smoke alarms and fire exits were regularly checked.
Staff had completed in house fire safety training.
As the practice currently did not have a fire alarm or emergency lighting, alternative arrangements had been put in place such as the use of torches in lieu of emergency lighting. We saw that the lack of a fire alarm and emergency lighting had been identified on the fire risk assessment and the provider confirmed that they had started to take action to address this.
Documentation was available to demonstrate that regular fire drills took place.
We saw copies of the five-year fixed wiring test certificates and gas safety certificates which were not available at our previous inspection.
Safe and effective staffing
At the inspection on 20 May 2025, we found the practice had made the following improvements to comply with the regulation:
The practice had a recruitment policy and procedures that reflected relevant legislation. Improvements had been made to recruitment records currently held and we were assured that going forward the practice would work in accordance with their recruitment policy.
Records were available to demonstrate that all staff had completed safeguarding training to the required level.
Staff had been made aware of ‘was not bought’ where a child was not bought to their appointment and its relevance to safeguarding. Information regarding was not bought was readily available for staff to review as required.
Improvements had been made to the practice’s arrangements to ensure staff training, including continuing professional development, was up-to-date and reviewed at the required intervals. The head nurse was responsible for ensuring training was up to date and had diarised reminders to ensure staff completed the necessary update training in a timely manner. Further training had been completed by staff and certificates were available to demonstrate this.
An appraisal system had been implemented and we were told that staff would receive regular appraisal. We saw that appraisal meetings had recently taken place with the next appraisal meetings scheduled for July 2025.

Cleaning schedules had been implemented which demonstrated that effective cleaning of the practice took place. The log recorded both daily and weekly tasks.
Posters were now on display regarding the correct colour coded cleaning equipment to be used in the appropriate areas.
