Our view of the service
We had previously undertaken a comprehensive assessment of JH Dental Clinic on 24 February 2025 under Section 60 of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 as part of our regulatory functions. We found the registered provider was not providing safe or well-led care and was in breach of regulation 12 and 17 of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014.
We undertook an announced follow up inspection on 20 May 2025. This inspection was carried out to review the actions taken by the registered provider to improve the quality of care and to confirm that the practice was now meeting legal requirements.
We found the practice had met regulations.
The practice had systems to manage risks.
Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation.
Infection control procedures followed published guidance.
Patients’ care and treatment was provided in line with current guidance and patients were treated with dignity and respect.
At the time of our inspection, we found that patients could access care, support and treatment when required.
There was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement.
The practice is in Canley, Coventry and provides NHS and private dental care and treatment for adults and children.
There was step-free access to the practice and car parking spaces, including dedicated parking for disabled people near the practice.
The practice had 2 treatment rooms. At the time of our inspection, there was a total of 8 staff, of which there was 1 dentist, 2 dental nurses, including 1 trainee, 3 dental hygienists and 2 receptionists. We spoke with the provider and head nurse during our inspection.
