We carried out this announced on-site inspection on 28 March 2025.
We found the practice had met regulations.
Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation and there was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement.
Patients were treated with dignity and respect and at the time of our inspection, could access care, support and treatment when required.
Patients’ care and treatment was provided in line with current guidance and infection control procedures were in place.
The practice had systems to manage risks. Improvements could be made to the systems in place for assessing the risks associated with fire.
The practice is in the London Borough of Southwark and provides NHS orthodontic care and treatment for adults and children.
There was step-free access to the practice and car parking spaces available, including dedicated parking for disabled people, near the practice.
The practice had 5 treatment rooms.Two rooms contained 2 dental chairs making a total of 7 dental chairs at the location. At the time of our inspection, there was a total of 31 staff, of which there were 4 orthodontists, 1 dentist, 5 dental nurses, 5 trainee dental nurses, 4 orthodontic therapists, 1 trainee orthodontic therapist, 1 dental hygienist, 4 receptionists, 2 treatment co-ordinators, 1 business manager, 1 human resources administrator and 2 practice managers. We gathered feedback from staff and spoke to a range of staff during our inspection, including the principal orthodontist, the head dental nurse, 1 orthodontic therapist, 1 receptionist and 2 practice managers.
