All Inspections

During an assessment under our new approach

Date of assessment: 5 and 6 February 2026. The service is a care home providing residential and nursing care to older people, some of whom are living with dementia. There were 29 people living at the service when we visited. We assessed all quality statements under the five key questions of safe, effective, caring, responsive and well led. This is the first inspection of the service since it was registered with a new provider. The inspection was carried out to give the service a rating under the new provider. We have rated the service good in all areas.

The service was clean and well maintained, with regular checks of the environment and annual servicing of equipment carried out to ensure it was safe.

There were enough staff with the right skills, qualifications and experience to support people appropriately. The staff recruitment process was thorough. Staff received training and regular supervision from senior staff. Medicines were managed safely, with systems in place to ensure they were stored and administered correctly. Care records were detailed and person-centred. Risks to people’s health and well-being were assessed and reviewed so staff could provide safe care.

People’s health was monitored and they were referred to healthcare professionals when advice was needed.Staff sought consent from people, and decisions were made in their best interest when they did not have mental capacity. Staff were kind and considerate.

There was competent leadership from the registered manager and home manager. Quality assurance systems ensured oversight of the service. Following a period of instability at the service, during which time there had been involvement from the local authority to help make improvements, the service was now stable.
