During an assessment under our new approach
We carried out this announced off-site inspection on 30 July 2026.
Where we carry out an off-site assessment, we undertake a detailed review of the practice risk assessments, policies, staff records and other relevant documents. We gather feedback from patients, staff and stakeholders (where relevant). We carry out a remote visual assessment of the premises and have discussions with staff.
We found the practice had met regulations.
The practice had effective systems to identify and manage risks, including infection prevention and control.
Staff had the skills, knowledge and experience to carry out their roles.
Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation and there was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement.
Staff provided care and treatment in line with current guidance. They treated patients with dignity and respect and ensured access to care, support, and treatment when required.
Mydentist - Claremont Bank - Shrewsbury is part of Mydentist, a dental group provider. The practice is in Shrewsbury and provides NHS and private dental care and treatment for adults and children.
There was step-free access to the practice via a portable ramp, with car parking spaces available nearby, including dedicated parking for disabled people. On-street parking was available in the local area, and the practice was located close to local transport links.
The practice had 6 treatment rooms. At the time of our inspection, there was a total of 29 staff. We gathered feedback from staff and spoke to a range of staff during our inspection, including 1 dentist, 4 dental nurses (including 3 trainee dental nurses), and the practice manager. Two of the group’s Regional Regulatory Officers were also at the inspection, supporting the team.
