All Inspections

During an assessment under our new approach

We carried out this announced on-site inspection on 24 July 2025.

We found the practice had met regulations.

The practice had effective systems to identify and manage risks, including infection prevention and control.

Staff had the skills, knowledge and experience to carry out their roles.

Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation and there was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement.

Staff provided care and treatment in line with current guidance. They treated patients with dignity and respect and ensured access to care, support, and treatment when required.

The practice is in Disley, East Cheshire and provides NHS and private dental care and treatment for adults and children.

There was step-free access to the practice and car parking spaces, including a dedicated parking space for disabled people, at the rear of the practice.

The practice had 3 treatment rooms. The total number of staff was 15. We gathered feedback from staff and spoke to a range of staff during our inspection, including 2 dentists, 2 dental nurses, 1 dental hygienist and the practice manager.

During a routine inspection

We spoke with four patients when we visited Disley Dental practice. All without exception praised the service, the staff and standard of treatment provided.

People told us that they were treated with respect and were always involved in making decisions about their care and treatment. One person said; 'The dentist is absolutely great, informative, competent, and professional. Always discusses treatment options with me and is very clear about costs.' Another person said; 'This dentist provides an excellent service, I feel involved and the staff are well trained, professional and always polite and friendly.'

Patients were asked about their medical history and we saw individualised clinical notes detailing full oral health assessment, risk assessment, examination and treatment planning.

Patients told us they were given information about treatment options so they were able make informed decisions about their treatment and dental care.

We saw that emergency equipment was available and readily accessible to staff. Staff had received training for cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and we saw certificates that confirmed this.

People who used the service told us that they felt safe and had confidence in the practice and in the competence and professionalism of staff. Staff were familiar with the services' safeguarding procedures so they knew what to do if there was any evidence or suspicion of abuse.
