Date of Assessment: 30 June to 15 July. Bluebird Care (Barnsley and Glossop) is a domiciliary care service providing a regulated activity of personal care. The service was providing care and support to people in their own homes. At the time of this inspection, there were 21 people receiving a service. However, not everyone who used the service received personal care. CQC only inspects where people receive personal care.This was the first assessment for the service since they registered with CQC in September 2024. Therefore, we included all the quality statements under each of the 5 key questions within this assessment.
People were receiving safe, person-centred care from a staff team who understood their responsibilities and knew people well. Management and staff understood their safeguarding responsibilities and concerns were responded to appropriately. Risks to individuals within their home environments were well assessed and managed.
The provider assessed people’s needs and worked with them to plan care. They monitored people’s health and wellbeing. Staff worked with other professionals to make sure people received the support they needed. The agency provided a range of information to help people understand their care. The provider obtained people’s consent and offered choices.
Staff were kind and supportive. They provided personalised care which met people’s needs and preferences.
There were effective systems for monitoring and improving quality at the service. The provider learnt from complaints, accidents and incidents. The provider listened to people and asked for their feedback.
