Date of Assessment: 17 and 18 February 2026. Ancasta Grove provides accommodation with nursing care for up to 75 people. Accommodation is arranged over 3 floors with stair and lift access. At the time of this inspection there were 65 people using the service. Our inspection was prompted by concerns received about how people’s needs were being met. This was a comprehensive inspection, and we reviewed all the quality statements. We found no concerns in relation to the care and support people received.

People’s needs had been fully assessed and were regularly reviewed. Risk assessments had been completed, and care plans informed staff how to keep people safe from harm. When people’s needs changed, care plans were updated to reflect this. Staff had the right skills, qualifications and experience to meet the needs of people and staff knew how to support people safely. Staff followed safeguarding processes, and systems were effective to manage any safeguarding concerns. Records showed people had enough to eat and drink to stay healthy.

Some improvements were needed in relation to medicines management, and some of the quality assurance processes. The management team were responsive to our feedback about this.Checks for safety had been carried out throughout the premises and for any equipment being used. Fire risks were assessed and managed. Quality assurance processes were in place to monitor all aspects of the service. Managers investigated incidents thoroughly and lessons learned were shared with staff. Staff worked with all agencies involved in people’s care for the best outcomes and monitored people’s health to support healthy living. A team of healthprofessionals told us, “Ancasta have been fantastic community partners.”

The service was clean and well maintained, and we observed staff following infection prevention and control guidelines. Staff told us the culture had changed and morale had improved with the new management team; they said they felt valued and respected and were encouraged and supported to develop professionally. They spoke positively about their roles, and the support and encouragement they received from the management team.
