Our current view of the service

Inadequate

Updated 5 March 2026

We completed an inspection between 31 March and 09 April 2026. Myable Care Limited is a domiciliary care service providing the regulated activity of personal care to people in their own homes. At the time of the inspection, Myable Care Limited was supporting 5 people with care in their own homes.

We found 8 breaches of legal regulations in relation to dignity and respect, person centred care, consent, safe care and treatment, safeguarding, safe and effective staffing, fit and proper persons and good governance.

People’s complex health needs were not well managed, including risks associated with diabetes, epilepsy, catheter care, skin integrity and constipation. Guidance was not in place to inform staff how to support people safely with their health needs. People were not safeguarded from abuse. People were left for long periods of time without care and their personal care needs neglected. People were not supported by staff who were competent or trained.

People’s care was not person centred. Care plans were generic and did not detail people’s preferences and wishes. People’s needs were not effectively assessed prior to their care starting. People who had short packages of care with Myable Care Limited did not have care plans, guidance or risk assessments in place for staff to follow. Governance processes were not in place to identify the significant shortfalls we found during the inspection.

This service is being placed in special measures. The purpose of special measures is to ensure that services providing inadequate care make significant improvements. Special measures provide a framework within which we user our enforcement powers in response to inadequate care and provide a timeframe within which providers must improve the quality of the care they provide. In instances where CQC have decided to take civil or criminal enforcement action against a provider, we will publish this information on our website after any representations and/or appeals have been concluded.

People's experience of the service

Updated 5 March 2026

People and their relatives mostly gave positive feedback and the care and the support they received. Relatives and people commented, “[Staff are] friendly, welcoming, professional,” and “We have a laugh and joke,” and “They’re very kind, nice.”

However, we found multiple and widespread concerns around the quality of care people received, including care calls being significantly late. One person’s daily notes stated that they were ‘very thirsty’ after staff arrived to their care call significantly late. Another relative told us that they expected their loved one’s care calls to be delivered every 4 hours to ensure they did not have to wait to use the bathroom. We found that over a period of a month there were numerous occasions where the persons care calls had been delivered late, and on some times nearly 12 hours between calls. Another person had been left waiting for support when their care call was late, and was found in an undignified way, with soiled bed sheets.

There was a lack of person centred care planning, or information within care plans about people. There were no life histories, likes or dislikes. We asked the provider to send us call log data and despite several requests they failed to share this. We could not be assured that care calls lasted the required time frame to meet people’s needs.
