During an assessment under our new approach
Date of assessment: 26 and 27 August 2025. Templeton Place care home is registered to provide accommodation with nursing care for up to 80 people. At the time of the assessment 24 people were using the service and the service was providing residential care only. The inspection took place in part due to concerns raised regarding staffing levels. This was a comprehensive inspection, and all quality statements were reviewed.
We received mixed feedback from people, their relatives and staff in relation to staffing levels. Risks to people’s safety and wellbeing were managed. Accidents and incidents were recorded and reviewed to minimise the risk of them happening again. Safeguarding concerns were reported in line with requirements and staff knew their responsibilities in keeping people safe. Safe systems were in place to manage maintenance and infection prevention and control. Staff received training and were supported in their roles with regular staff meetings and supervisions. Staff were encouraged to develop professionally.
Audit systems were in place to review the care people received and monitor the systems within the service. Where concerns were identified, action was taken to improve. There was a strong management presence within the service, with additional support provided from the regional and quality teams. Staff told us they felt supported, and the management team were approachable and easy to talk to.
