During an assessment under our new approach

Date of Assessment: 19 June to 02 July 2026. This assessment covered all of the 5 key questions. This was our first inspection of the service since the provider registered with The Care Quality Commission (CQC) in January 2025. The service is an extra care service providing support to older and younger people living in their own homes, within a large purpose-built shared building. Not everyone who used the service were receiving a regulated activity. Those that were, had the regulated activity of personal care. Personal care is help with tasks related to personal hygiene and eating. At the time of our assessment, they were providing personal care services to 20 people.

The provider had effective systems to assess, plan and deliver personalised care that reflected people’s individual needs, preferences and goals. Staff worked proactively with people, relatives and healthcare professionals to promote positive outcomes, maintain health and wellbeing, and support people to remain as independent as possible. Care plans were reviewed regularly and updated when people’s needs changed.

Staff understood their responsibilities for safeguarding, risk management, incident reporting and medicines management. Systems were in place to investigate incidents, identify learning and implement improvements. The provider worked effectively with healthcare professionals and partner organisations to ensure people received coordinated and responsive support.

Staff were positive about working for the provider and spoke highly of the support they received from senior staff. They completed relevant training, received regular supervision and competency assessments. Staff demonstrated a good understanding of people’s needs and told us they had formed positives working relationships in the time they worked together.

The registered manager and senior leaders maintained good oversight of the service through audits, quality assurance activities, live monitoring systems and regular engagement with people, staff and stakeholders. The provider used feedback, learning and quality monitoring information to review processes and promote improvements.
