We carried out this announced on-site inspection on 13 May 2025.
We found the practice had met regulations.
Infection control procedures in place were effective.
The practice had effective systems to identify and manage risks.
There was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement.
Patients’ care and treatment was provided in line with current guidance.
Patients were treated with dignity and respect and at the time of our inspection, could access care, support and treatment when required.
Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation. However, these were not always followed.
Improvements were required to the systems to review and investigate incidents and accidents.
Rose Lane Dental Practice is in Mossley Hill, Liverpool and provides NHS and private dental care and treatment for adults and children.
There was step-free access to the practice and car parking spaces available, including dedicated parking for disabled people, near the practice.
The practice had 13 treatment rooms. At the time of our inspection, there was a total of 60 staff, of which there were 14 dentists, 1 sedationist, 1 orthodontist, 1 endodontist, 1 periodontist, 1 prosthodontist, 6 dental therapists, 3 dental hygienists, 17 qualified dental nurses, 5 trainee dental nurses, 9 receptionists and the practice manager. We gathered feedback from staff and spoke to a range of staff during our inspection, including 5 dentists, 4 dental nurses and the practice manager.
The service provides cosmetic treatments, some of which are not in scope of CQC regulation and are not covered in our inspection.
