People were in the main supported by caring staff. One person told us, “The staff are very caring”. A relative told us staff were very much kind and caring. Another person said, “They [staff] know what I need, and they do it. They [staff] talk to me and make me feel comfortable”. However, not everyone described having a good relationship with the staff who supported them, one person told us staff did not communicate well with them. Most people told us they would recommend the service.

Staff knew the people they supported and understood their preferences.

Care records promoted independence, dignity and privacy. People were involved in setting their own goals and identifying the support they required to maximise independence. The provider used feedback from clients to record where outcomes were achieved.

Staff consistently felt valued and supported by the provider.

The provider implemented an holistic assessment process and involved people to identify individual care needs and how best to meet these. The provider valued staff through acknowledgement and reward.
