All Inspections

During an assessment under our new approach

We undertook a follow-upon-site inspection on 15 December 2025.This was carried out to review the actions taken by the registered provider to improve the quality of care and to assess whether the practice was meeting legal requirements.

We had previously undertaken an announced on-site inspection of Keep Smiling UK on 21 July 2025. We had found the registered provider was not providing well-led care and was in breach of regulation 17, Good governance of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014.

During our follow-up inspection, we found the practice had met regulations.

The practice had improved systems to identify and manage risks and had ensured that there was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement.

In addition, improvements had been made to ensure staff had completed essential training in medical emergencies, fire safety and recruitment procedures reflected current legislation

The practice is in Notting Hill and provides private dental care and treatment for adults and children. The practice specialises in dental implants.
Car parking spaces were available, including dedicated parking for disabled people, near the practice.
The practice had 1 treatment room. At the time of our inspection, there was a total of 2 staff, of which there were 1 dentist, who owned the practice, and receptionist, who was also the dentist’s personal assistant. We spoke to the dentist and receptionist during the inspection.

During an assessment under our new approach

We carried out this announced inspection on 21 July 2025.
We found the practice had not met all regulations.
The practice had systems to identify and manage risks, including infection prevention and control however these were not always followed or effective.
The service lacked a culture of continuous improvement and there were ineffective systems in place for governance and oversight.

Staff had the skills, knowledge and experience to carry out their roles. However improvements were required to ensure training in areas such as fire and medical emergencies was undertaken.
Improvements were required to ensure that recruitment checks were carried out for all staff employed.

Staff provided care and treatment in line with current guidance. They treated patients with dignity and respect and ensured access to care, support, and treatment when required.

16 July 2013

During a routine inspection

We were not able to speak to people who use the service as no one had an appointment booked on the day of our inspection. However, we looked at the provider's June 2013 feedback survey results and feedback questionnaires that had been collected for the July 2013 survey. These indicated that people were pleased with the treatment they had received. Comments included, "excellent as always" and "very satisfied with the service". There was written information available on the treatments provided and post-operative advice. People felt that procedures had been clearly explained and all of their queries or concerns had been resolved by staff.

People were cared for in a clean, hygienic environment by suitably trained and qualified staff. Care and treatment was planned to ensure people's safety and welfare and there were arrangements in place to deal with emergencies. Where appropriate, people were referred to an alternative service for treatment.

There were systems in place to monitor the quality of service provided. A variety of audits had been undertaken and monthly feedback surveys were carried out. Where improvements could be made, these were discussed at practice meetings and acted on. The provider had followed appropriate guidance in relation to infection control. There were separate decontamination facilities and daily checklists were in place to ensure that the environment and decontamination equipment were in good working order.
