Our current view of the service
Updated
23 July 2024
We carried out this on-site announced assessment on 13 August 2024.
We found the practice had met regulations.
The practice had systems to manage risk and infection control procedures followed published guidance and there was a culture of continuous improvement.
Patients’ care and treatment was provided in line with current guidance and were were treated with dignity and respect.
At the time of our assessment, patients could access care, support and treatment when required.
However, some areas of leadership needed strengthening and recruitment procedures did not fully reflect current legislation.
The practice is in Birmingham and provides NHS and private dental care and treatment for adults and children.
At the time of our assessment, the dental team included 2 dentists, 3 dental nurses, I trainee dental nurse, 1 dental therapist and 1 receptionist. The practice had 3 treatment rooms. During the assessment we spoke with 1 dentist, 2 dental nurses and the receptionist.

Two weeks before and during our assessment we asked the practice to encourage patients to share their views of the service with us. We received 55 responses. These were all positive. Comments included “A very well run practice, the staff are always very helpful and friendly. The dentists are very professional but at the same time have time to talk” and “Mr Raj always explains everything to me and get always goes above and beyond to solve any questions I have. Anytime I require an appointment he offers on the day emergency appointments and reassures me throughout the treatment....”
The practice shared patient feedback with the team. We were told this was reviewed and where suggestions had been made, appropriate action would be taken.
Staff gathered feedback from patients, the public and external partners and demonstrated a commitment to acting on feedback.
Patients commented positively about the standards of cleanliness.
