Our current view of the service

Updated 21 March 2025

We carried out this announced on-site inspection on 14 January 2026.

We found the practice had not met all regulations.

Infection prevention and control procedures were in-line with published guidance.

Staff provided care and treatment in line with current guidance. They treated patients with dignity and respect and ensured access to care, support, and treatment when required.

Not all risks associated with the undertaking of regulated activities had been suitably identified and mitigated.

The practice recruitment procedures did not fully reflect relevant legislation to help them employ suitable staff and the practice did not have an effective system to monitor staff training to ensure action could be taken quickly if training requirements were not being met.

Governance arrangements were not always effective, although we found the provider responsive to feedback.

White Hart Lane Clinic Limited is in Hockley, Essex and provides NHS and private dental care and treatment for adults and children.

At the time of the inspection, the practice was undergoing renovation to their reception area and treatment rooms. Access to the practice was at the rear of the practice which was step free. Car parking spaces were available, including dedicated parking for disabled people, near the practice.

The practice had 3 treatment rooms. At the time of our inspection, there was a total of 12 staff, of which there was the principal dentist, 3 associate dentists, 3 dental nurses (one of whom worked on reception), 3 dental hygienists, an assistant practice manager and a practice manager. We gathered feedback from staff and spoke to a range of staff during our inspection, including 2 dentists, 2 dental nurses, 1 dental hygienist, the receptionist, the assistant practice manager and the practice manager.

The provider was not complying with Regulation 17 Good Governance. Full details of the regulation the provider was not meeting are within the inspection report.

We have asked the provider for an action plan in response to the concerns found at this inspection.
