Our view of the service

Date of assessment: 1 September to 20 September 2026.

Seacroft Green Care Centre is a nursing care home providing nursing and personal care for a maximum of 75 people. At the time of our assessment, 63 people were living at the service. We carried out this assessment because the service had not been inspected before. This was the first inspection of the service, and we reviewed all quality statements. Our overall rating for the service is good.

People received safe, effective and compassionate care from staff who knew them well and understood their individual needs, preferences and life histories. Care plans were detailed, regularly reviewed and developed with the involvement of people and, where appropriate, their relatives. Risks were assessed, monitored and managed through effective care planning, regular reviews and partnership working with healthcare professionals. People were supported to access healthcare services when required, maintain their health and wellbeing, and make choices about their care. Staff demonstrated kindness, respect and compassion, promoting people's independence, dignity and choice while responding promptly to their changing and immediate needs.

The service was led by a supportive and approachable management team who had worked to improve culture, communication and staff confidence. Staff, people and professionals spoke positively about the leadership, the open and inclusive culture, and the provider's commitment to continuous learning and improvement. Robust governance systems, quality assurance processes and effective partnership working supported the delivery of safe, personalised care and positive outcomes for people. While some environmental maintenance issues and out-of-date medical items identified during the assessment required attention, the provider took prompt action to address these concerns and reduce the risk of recurrence.

The service was registered to provide care and support for people with a learning disability and/or autistic people. However, at the time of our assessment, the service was not supporting anyone with these needs and was not operating as a specialist learning disability service. We therefore did not assess the service against the principles of Right Support, Right Care, Right Culture.
