Alternative Smart Solutions Ltd is a domiciliary care agency. The provider is registered to support older people, younger adults, those with dementia, mental health conditions, a sensory impairment and a physical disability.

This was a planned assessment of the quality statements under the 5 key questions of safe, effective, caring, responsive and well led.

Staff delivered safe care in line with people’s care plans and risk assessments, which reflected people’s needs, likes and preferences. People were supported as individuals, with dignity and respect.

Staff recruitment processes were safe, and they received the training to carry out their duties.

There was confidence in the registered manager from people and relatives.

Governance systems were operating effectively, and this included oversight by the registered manager, who was also the provider.

People were involved in their care planning and were listened to, meaning they received the care they wanted. People told us staff were attentive, considered, respectful, helpful and developed good rapport with them. Staff were aware of the importance of gaining consent when delivering care and maintaining people’s autonomy and independence.

People told us they felt safe. People and their relatives told us that support was flexible and responsive when needs changed and additional support was required or requested.

People and relatives felt there was good communication with the provider and that any concerns they had were responded to and resolved quickly and to their satisfaction.
