Our view of the service
Dates of assessment: 1 June 2026 to 20 June 2026. Brookmead Health and Social Care Solutions is a domiciliary care agency, providing care and support to people living in their own homes. CQC only inspects where people receive personal care. This is help with tasks related to personal hygiene and eating.
This was the first assessment of this service since registration in July 2024. The service had previously been dormant and started to carry out regulated activity from February 2026. At the time of our assessment, Brookmead Health and Social Care Solutions was supporting 1 person. The registered provider, who was nominated individual as well as the registered manager, was present throughout the assessment and was the only member of staff.
There were a range of policies, procedures, risk assessments, and care planning processes to support the delivery of care. People’s needs were assessed before receiving support, care plans contained detailed information about health needs, risks, preferences, and desired outcomes, and people and their relatives were involved in planning and decision-making. People and relatives provided positive feedback about the caring nature of the service. Care records demonstrated that people receive personalised care that reflected their individual needs and preferences.
However, many systems and processes had not yet been fully implemented or embedded in practice, limiting assurance regarding their effectiveness. The registered provider demonstrated limited knowledge of evidence-based practice, specific health needs, the Mental Capacity Act, as well as the diverse needs of the local communities the service operated in.
Governance, quality assurance, monitoring, feedback, partnership working, and improvement systems were underdeveloped, and there was insufficient evidence to demonstrate how incidents and safeguarding concerns would be monitored and used to drive learning and improvement.
There was insufficient evidence available to demonstrate how the provider would support staff or engage with external professionals. As a result, we were unable to fully assess these areas and could not make an overall rating judgement across all domains.
