Equity in experiences and outcomes

Score: 3

Staff and leaders actively listened to information about people who are most likely to experience inequality in experience or outcomes and tailored their care, support and treatment in response to this.
People told us they were happy living in the home, and relatives felt their loved ones received appropriate care. One family member shared that although their loved one’s health was declining, staff ‘are very good and do all that they possibly can.’
We also observed positive interactions between staff and residents, including the use of physical touch, dancing, and music to engage with people in ways that suited them best.
No one reported any concerns about discrimination. The provider complied with equality and human rights requirements, including avoiding discrimination, having regard to the needs of people with different protected characteristics and making reasonable adjustments to support equality in the workplace. Staff undertook training in equality and diversity and there was a diverse workforce.
