Caring
Caring – this means we looked for evidence that the provider involved people and treated them with compassion, kindness, dignity, and respect.
This is the first assessment for this newly registered service, this key question has been rated good, this meant people were supported and treated with dignity and respect; and involved as partners in their care.

Kindness, compassion and dignity
The provider always treated people with kindness, empathy and compassion and respected their privacy and dignity. Staff treated colleagues from other organisations with kindness and respect.
People were positive about the kindness and compassion shown by staff and management. They told us that care is always delivered in a dignified way and the carers thanked them for allowing them into their home to look after them. One person told us, “The manager is wonderful, she always advises me that I can ring her any time if there is anything I need to talk about”.
Treating people as individuals
The provider treated people as individuals and made sure people’s care, support and treatment met people’s needs and preferences. They took account of people’s strengths, abilities, aspirations, culture and unique backgrounds and protected characteristics.
The service had a good policy around Equality, diversity and Inclusion and staff had completed the relative training.People told us that their protected characteristics were respected.
Independence, choice and control
The provider promoted people’s independence, so people knew their rights and had choice and control over their own care, treatment, and wellbeing.
People told us staff were kind and caring and delivered care in a personal, dignified way. Carers were accommodating when people needed to change their routine on the day.
Responding to people’s immediate needs
The provider listened to and understood people’s needs, views and wishes. Staff responded to people’s needs in the moment and acted to minimise any discomfort, concern, or distress.
Staff showed a good understanding of people’s needs and what they would do in an emergency or if there was a change in a person’s well-being. People told us that staff knew if they were not their normal self and always asked how they could help them.
Workforce wellbeing and enablement
The provider cared about and promoted the wellbeing of their staff and supported and enabled staff to always deliver person-centred care.
Staff told us that they liked working for the service and received support from the provider and manager regarding their wellbeing. One person told us “I am treat very well, the manager is very kind and professional and always checks on my well-being”.The manager demonstrated an awareness of staff needs and told us that staff were offered guidance and advice to assist them in carrying out their role well.
