We undertook a follow-up on-site inspection on 9 January 2026. This was carried out to review the actions taken by the registered provider to improve the quality of care and to assess whether the practice was meeting legal requirements.
We had previously undertaken an announced inspection of York Road Dental Practice on 8 July 2025. We had found the registered provider was not providing safe and well-led care and was in breach of regulations 12 (Safe care and treatment) and 17 (Good governance) of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014.
During our follow-up inspection, we found the practice had met regulations.
The practice had strengthened its systems for identifying, assessing and mitigating risks. These included areas such as fire and premises safety, Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH), secure storage of patient care records and the management of medicines and medical emergencies.
There was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement.
There were improved systems in place to monitor training to ensure appropriate action can be taken quickly when training requirements were not being met.
Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation and the required recruitment documentation, including vaccination records, was available for every member of staff.
The practice is in the London Borough of Barnet and provides NHS and private dental care and treatment for adults and children.
There was step-free access to the practice and car parking spaces available near the practice.
The practice had 2 treatment rooms. At the time of our inspection, there was a total of 5 staff, of which there were 2 dentists, 2 dental nurses and 1 trainee dental nurse. We gathered feedback from staff and spoke to a range of staff during our inspection, including 2 dentists, 1 dental nurse and 1 trainee dental nurse.
