We undertook a follow-up off-site inspection on 27 February 2026. This was carried out to review the actions taken by the registered provider to improve the quality of care and to assess whether the practice was meeting legal requirements.
We had previously undertaken an announced on-site inspection of Covent Garden Dental Clinic on 12 May 2025. We had found the registered provider was not providing well-led care and was in breach of regulation 17, good governance of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014.
During our follow-up inspection, we found the practice had met the regulation.
Risks management had improved at the practice and potential risks were now appropriately assessed and managed.
Recruitment policy reflected current legislation, and we saw evidence to confirm this was now followed when we reviewed recruitment records for new members of staff.
Clinical waste was now disposed of properly and in line with guidance.
Processes were now in place to ensure prescriptions were managed in line with current guidance.
Governance structures were now formalised to improve leadership and oversight.
Covent Garden Dental Clinic is in Covent Garden in the London Borough of Westminster and provides NHS and private dental care and treatment for adults and children.
Access to the practice was via a flight of ascending stairs which leads to the reception area, decontamination room and a treatment room. Paid car parking spaces were available near the practice.
The practice had 3 treatment rooms. At the time of our inspection, there was a total of 4 staff, of which there were 1 dentist, 1 trainee dental nurse, 1 dental hygienist and 1 receptionist. We spoke to the principal dentist during our inspection.
